openSUSE Leap 42.1 Reference Guide: I Advanced Administration: 4 Remote Access with VNC: If a Persistent VNC Session is running on the target system then, the Display Number to use when connecting "vncviewer" (or any other VNC Client) is the Display number mentioned by the "vncserver" command executed by the target/remote user's CLI. ** Not "1" ** -- that's the default display number of the One-time VNC Sessions.
