Looks like you are experiencing exactly the problem you describe in your linked
articles. The defaults offered by cryptsetup are too strong so that the slower
grub implementation shows. The work-around is to weaken your defaults during
the installation. I do not think that this should be weakened for all users
through, since there are non-boot scenarios here.
