I had the same problem on an Intel E6300-based machine: trying to load kernel 4.8.3.1 or 4.8.4.1 resulted in an immediate reboot. I had no problem using a kernel prior to 4.8.x (In reply to Jiri Slaby from comment #4) > This looks like a different bug, but let's check it. Could you try kernel > 4.8.6 from Kernel:stable?
