Comment # 5 on bug 1006632 from Berndt Tobias

I had the same problem on an Intel E6300-based machine: trying to load kernel
4.8.3.1 or 4.8.4.1 resulted in an immediate reboot. I had no problem using a
kernel prior to 4.8.x

I tried both kernels 4.8.6.1 and 4.8.6.2 from kernel:stable and they both work
fine, system starts normally.
