I don't think there is a way for the solver to know what the least damage is.

Also if the packages have dependencies that are not really required its a issue
with their packaging, not with the package manager.

Adding Michael to the loop, maybe he can say something about if the Solver
could offer Solutions based on whats the least destructive.
