spectacle does not honor the settings of use case. Bug 1090378 mentions the rectangular version. But spectacle fails also to do automatic screenshots of the current screen when "all screen" is selected. It drops back to "select rectangular region". E.g. Set "take an automatic picture of the open screen after n seconds. Click on an applet in plasma with a dropout list (e.g. here switch user). The pic should be taken after n seconds of the screen showing also the dropout list. This is not done. A cross appears with the request to select a rectangular version. Same, spectacle is not able to respect: take a pic of area under the cursor. Again you will be dropped out to the "select manually the region" which will close any popup or dropout list. What the software should do: take a picture in automatic after n seconds without demanding a selection or a click. - respect furthermore the settings for selection - do a photo of the area under the mouse cursor when selected instead of asking again for a manual selection. Feel free to set this as duplicate of 1090378 if applicable.
