You must be a mind reader :-) because I have been reading about obs and openqa.

I knew that they both use vms but had not found out which vm software they were
using so thanks for confirming it is kvm.

I see that obs creates vms to do the builds which is how it can do it for other
distros but what is obs running as the host OS?   

Is it TW or Leap or SLE?    I'm thinking it is not TW because that seems like
it would have a big impact on the build process because of the frequent
updates.

FYI, since I turned off vmci for that one virtual machine, as expected the
kernel/ext4 issues completely stopped.

What still seems odd to me is that the issue only occurred for the Windows 10
VM that is on that ext4 fileystem and has never occurred for the Linux VMs on
that same ext4 filesystem even though the Linux VMs still have vmci turned ON.
