Instead of re-creating the whole print queue setup
it should also work to exchange in the existing old PPD
in /etc/cups/ppd/quque.pdd

i.e. replace "foomatic-rip-hplip" by "foomatic-rip"
which is what I did in the PPDs in the hplip RPMs
since "Fri Aug 12 10:36:13 CEST 2011" see above.
