Is there a single repository where we have the complete KDE3 source tree (with
all current patches) we can 'grep -r jack' and look at where it is being pulled
in? Recreating the tree from .srpms will be time consuming, but doable. It may
be helpful to compare the results of the same output against the TDE git tree.
I have old copies of the the TDE tree for 3.5.13-sru that will probably
suffice. 

The knotify crash still occurs but sometimes it can occur in a few hours,
sometimes it takes a day or so. It is triggered most often when several sound
events are triggered in quick succession (such as scrolling the mouse-wheel
over the desktop background to change desktop in quick succession)

If we think this is narrowed down to the kde3-kdelibs source, I'll start with
that. At least that is were kdelibs/arts/knotify resides.
