Seems you slightly misunderstood the comments in that bug report. It is *not* possible to provide a "look and feel specific setting" for this. The look and feel/lockscreen theme can "decide" to show them or not, but it's currently not possible to have that configurable. I think removing the media control buttons in openSUSE would not be a good idea, because it would likely lead to bug reports that this new feature doesn't work in openSUSE (but does in other distributions)... Also, currently we don't even provide our own screenlocker theme, and just use the one from the upstream default Breeze LNF/theme in the openSUSE LNF. There is a patch currently in review to add an option to the screenlocker settings though: https://phabricator.kde.org/D9601 Seems to be targeted for Plasma 5.12, which we will of course submit to Tumbleweed when it is released (and it will also be used in the upcoming Leap 15).
