copy & paste from konsole window that started k3b (I closed K3B when 3/4 of 4GB
RAM had been consumed for this 42.2 attempt)

Occurs on 42.3/KDE3 Haswell host msi85 and EagleLake host big41 in both
42.3/KDE3 and 42.2/KDE3
kde3-k3b-1.0.5-67.51.x86_64 installed on 42.3 on msi85

Worked as expected until updates of recent weeks.
Remains capable of burning existing DVD .iso

To reproduce:
1-start K3B
2-configure temporary location where exists adequate space for the temporary
.iso
3-select copy DVD
4-insert copyable video DVD
5-select use same device for source and target
6-start copy

Actual behavior:
1-DVD drive stays quiet
2-K3B reports no progress
3-top reports escalating RAM consumption
4-CPU pegs
5-K3B abends on reaching OOM state
6-0 byte .iso file is written to configured tmp directory

Expected behavior:
1-DVD drive spins
2-K3B reports progress
3-DVD ejects when read is complete
4-K3B reports progress when blank media is inserted
5-useable DVD copy eventually ejects
