The problem is worse than I origianlly thought. I expected the problem to be
caused by our recent changes in the locking that were needed to prevent hangs
in the Leap 15.4 guests; however, there are locking problems even when that
patch is reverted.

@Dominique: Who should I contact to get the change in kernel configuration
reverted so that CONFIG_PROVE_LOCKING is not set, at least until we solve this
problem. Although that configuration variable is not (yet) set for TW kernels,
my fear is that the change may propagate there and break all of TW/VirtualBox.
