I would appreciate it if the developers could address the possibility of doing what is stated in the title of this bug: "Please get rid of PackageKit completely from default install media". PackageKit just adds another unnecessary layer of bugs and complexity, and at least in the case of openSUSE is redundant in the presence of the much better YaST package tools.
