Well, I think we can close this then.

As mentioned, I am not able to reproduce this anymore since a while, on several
systems. To be sure I just tried again on current 42.2.

Actually I did some more tests a while ago (also on several openSUSE versions,
including 13.1), and the results were reliable:
- this bug happened with Firefox upto 46, but not with later versions
- downgrading to 46 made it reappear, updating fixed it again

So IMHO this is fixed (since Firefox 47).

And the crash I mentioned in comment#6 was handled in a different bug report
(bug#1015998) and should be fixed meanwhile too.
