OK, so we go back to square, but with a slight more knowlege. At least, this is a real sudden death and the complete freeze including the kernel. The bad thing is that it's still almost impossible to even guess what weng wrong in the current situation without error logs. A few things you can still try are: - Try kernel-debug package. This might catch some issues before the hang or might show something at hang. - Increase the kernel log level. Run "dmesg -n 8" once. This makes the kernel debug messages logged, too, so worth for all kernel flavors. - Use the newer kernel versions (3.18.x, 3.19). The packages are available in OBS Kernel:stable and Kernel:HEAD repos.
