Next is all other terminal emulators like in gnome, in xfce4 oand other whic
hare used with TERM=xterm(-whatever): do they work together with ncurses and
its correct terminfo entry for the XTerm?

If not please clone this bug and adapt the subject for the specific terminal
emulator so that we get those fixed (e.g. support of the REP feature of the
XTerm)
