I have the same problem with a ASUS PRIME X-570-PRO mainboard (if that matters)
with Secure-Boot enabled.

Since the metioned update the bootloader does not load and I ony see a black
screen which makes debugging quite hard. Worth mentioning that I'm using
openSuse Tumbleweed.
However, I found out that the problem was not grub, but shim or MokManager. If
I boot from a USB-Stick and load the grub.efi directly system boots.

I deleted everything related to EFI several times and reinstalled the
bootloader several times. I did this by booting a Rescure-System from USB-Stick
and chroot into the installed system.

I finally found a workaround by copying shim.efi and momanager.efi from
openSUSE 15.2 installation-mediuem (old version) manually to the EFI partition
and thus doing some kind of downgrade.
That fixes my problem for now.
