os-update-1.9 allows to configure the FROM address.

But you should really setup a local null client mail system, which forwards all
you local generated mails to your mail provider honoring their rules.
It's clearly not the task of tools who just sends the mail and depend on a
working mail system, which you still don't seem to have.
