I suspect this is a duplicate (or variant) of bug#1194550. Actually a curl/OpenSSL issue zypper runs into. The zypper log itself show no issues. So the SEGV happens after zypper left main.cc. Reproducible for me only on 15.4. `coredumpctl -1 info` shows the crash below 'curl_easy_cleanup (libcurl.so.4 + 0x20b99)' called within '__run_exit_handlers'. All this hints to #1194550. I'll check whether zypper-1.14.53 already fixes this...
