The changelog claim it is necessary:

but this is obviously wrong. I have removed xorg-x11-fonts and
xorg-x11-fonts-core from my system, and libreoffice works as before.

The actually needed Requires may be "fonts-config", which is required via
xorg-x11-fonts -> xorg-x11-fonts-core -> fonts-config.
