Wolfgang, The problem has not been resolved completely. When I delete a panel, I can see the desktop yet my hard drive light stays on as if the "ksmserver" is searching for files over several minutes. I pressed cntrl+alt+backspace several times to get out. The keyboard stops working because the "ksmserver" is searching for files and file entries. I am uploading my .xsessions-error-:0 file.
