On a fresh Tumbleweed install with XFCE, NetworkManager shows up in the panel notification area. As a new openSUSE user, unaware of Wicked, this confused me as I had an active network connection (of course NetworkManager is unaware of that connection and showed no active connections). I think it would be better if the nm-applet would be disabled on a default install.
