OK I think I can reproduce this most of the time when I boot with the external monitor. It sometimes happens that I cannot even reset the problem with CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE. At the moment I am stuck with menus that are about 1000pixels away where they should be. Maybe this has something to do with the monitor scaling?
