It's really hard to handle problems this way.

Yes, the main problem here was/is that plasmoids can "leak out" I suppose.
I can't find any fix for that right now (though I am remembering it), but let's
see.

The default (and only KDE related) desktop in 42.1 is Plasma5.
So that's not the problem then.

There have been fixes to Plasma5's (kscreen's) handling of outputs though,
maybe they have caused this.
In other words, it may have been caused by a bug in previous versions that has
been fixed now.
Not sure if that could (or should) be fixed then...
