Attempted to use this workaround:
 - restored all my Postscript fonts to /usr/local/share/fonts;
 - fonts-config -f and fc-cache -f;
 - LibreOffice Writer picks up the Postscript fonts in the Font Selection
men�s;
 - but, Writer doesn't display them in any existing document which was using
   them;
 - also not in a new document which uses them.

Resetting the VCL TextLayoutEngine parameter to "new" and reverting the
Postscript fonts to OpenType, results in Writer displaying existing documents
as expected.
