This isn't a bug. You need to use the PAE kernel to use all your memory. Note that the address starts at 0x100000000 - which is the next address above the 32-bit address space. The -default kernel can't access memory above that. It's why the -pae kernel exists at all. As for your remaining memory, it could have just been occupied by device mappings. I'm not going to dig any deeper though as the right answer is to use the PAE kernel.
