https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=638074 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=638074#c0 Summary: [regression] 2.6.34.4 - hangs on "MSI quirk detected; subordinate MSI disabled" Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jnelson-suse@jamponi.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.8) Gecko/20100723 SUSE/3.6.8-0.1.1 Firefox/3.6.8 I will be enclosing a screenshot. Machine was totally unbootable after installing 2.6.34.4. "failsafe" didn't work. I booted into rescue mode (after finding a usb cdrom and iso), installed the old kernel-default-2.6.34-12.3, and tried booting into that. NO LUCK, same problem. Only after removing kernel-default-base-2.6.34.4 and a bunch of (probably unrelated) kernel devel packages (just to be safe) did the machine boot. Also, removing the old (new) kernel did not remove the entries from /boot/grub/menu.lst Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
