Some more details:

Within Firefox I use this url for Google search
https://www.google.no/webhp

Then, after first search with the default "All Time" setting, I use the tool
button to fine tune and select i.e "last 24 hours". Then the options "Translate
this page" become available over each hit links.  

Using this "Translate this page" cause the reported error.

I have also installed the addon plugin "Google Translator for Firefox", and get
the same error using this.
