I have been informed that wayland is deactivated in GNOME 3.26.x on multi-gpu-devices (like mine with Intel & Nvidia). https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=771442 background info is said to be found in said bug report. If I really wanted to test, I shall try to put the following line into /etc/environment: export MUTTER_ALLOW_HYBRID_GPUS=1 That should deactivate the check in GNOME and allow wayland. Did not get to test it yet though
