A bug in audacity 2.1.1 causes it to "forgets" to create /var/tmp/audacity-$USERNAME. The result is that audacity doesn't start, and to make it even worse, it still exits without any visible feedback. (I had to use strace to find out what happens.) This bug was "found" more than once on the german openSUSE mailinglist. I reported this upstream (2015-12-14), and it should be fixed since 2.1.2 alpha. Please package the fixed audacity, and also provide an update for Leap 42.1 (audacity in Leap 42.1 also has this bug).
