https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=701368 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=701368#c0 Summary: running sane-find-scanner leads to disabled USB device (mouse) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Milestone 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: hendrikw@arcor.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=435761) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=435761) debug log of sane-find-scanner and /var/log/messages of unplugging and plugging in the mouse after it got disabled (for hardware info) User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:2.0.1) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/4.0.1 When I run sane-find-scanner a couple of times the USB mouse gets disabled. One (or two) more run(s) of sane-find-scanner re-enables the mouse. Or I unplug and plug in the mouse again, to make it work again. I will add a attachment with the debug log of sane-find-scanner. I tested this with OpenSUSE 12.1 Milestone, kernel 2.6.39-2-desktop #1 SMP PREEMPT Mon May 23 11:35:38 UTC 2011 (3b6edff) i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux and an OpenSUSE 11.4 KDE live cd with kernel 2.6.37.1-1.2-default #1 SMP 2011-02-21 10:34:10 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux and always sane-backends 1.0.22. I did not test this with other usb devices than this mouse. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. become root 2. run sane-find-scanner until the mouse gets disabled 3. Actual Results: The mouse stops working. Expected Results: The mouse should keep on working. The computer is a six years old Fujitsu Siemens Celsius H230 laptop. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
