I have installed the OS from the latest Tumbleweed snapshot and booting the
system without a charger works well. It works on both
kernel-default-5.3.18-lp152.10.4.x86_64 and on the (currently) latest
kernel-default-5.6.4-1.2.x86_64. I will keep this bug report open for a few
days, will make further tests and report back.
