Yes, this can't work. Pascal is not supported by this driver. Only Turing and above and with that you would need to set an option to get it working unless you have one of these special CUDA-only GPUs you only find in Cloud systems, which are officially supported by this driver. Not sure how this could happen. Looks like an existing nvidia-driver-G06-kmp-default (version 525.85.05) package has been replaced by nvidia-open-driver-G06-signed-kmp-default (same version) package by the TW update. I've now added Conflicts between these packages, so this should no longer happen, unless you ignore these Conflicts during zypper update. Not sure about the graphical boot progress, since you now reinstalled the same driver again as before the update ... don't know why this changed now ...
