I have zero internal knowledge about desktops (I do not use a desktop like KDE or Gnome - I use X with a plain windowmanager) so that I cannot do anything useful here. We (i.e. openSUSE) distribute HP's HPLIP software but we do not develop it. In case of issues with HPLIP please report them directly to HP via http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/support.html Preferably post an URL to your upstream issue report here as reference. I guess the issue is the same as discussed in the "hplip starts too early" mail thread on opensuse-factory@opensuse.org http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-factory/2015-06/msg00134.html
