Box have two microphone and speakers. Speakers work correctly, but microphone do not. Setting internal microphone will generate noise during recording. When I am listening to music and then suspend the system to RAM (using the KDE suspend framework) without shutting off the music, the process goes crazy upon resuming. It produces a full-volume screeching noise that hangs the whole system, forcing me to hard-power-off with the power button. It appears that mplayer is the program that most consistently results in this runaway noise condition after resuming. This should not happen, as it forces the user to power-off the computer and risks damaging his speakers or his ears, not mention data loss. ALSA should be suspended with the system during suspend. Great, but neither gxmms2 nor esperanza are included packages in the release, so there is currently no front-end GUI client. Can one or both of these apps be added to 11.3? In 11.2 I could choose the main audio device (digital or analog output) in the audio-configuration tool of kde 4.4. This option is gone with 11.3 RC1 - pulseaudio is the only option left. This might be the cause why kde4.4testsound+amarok seems to play any file but nothing comes out of the speakers for both outputs digital and analog. In VLC I still can choose between Alsa, Oss, PortAudio etc. and within Alsa I chose "HDA Intel:ALC1200 digital (hw:0,1)" instead of "HDA Intel:ALC1200 analog (hw:0,0)". That made sound work in vlc. The firefox flash-plugin and the yast sound-configuration tool (test sound) had no problems from the beginning on.
