RTNETLINK answers: File exists 254 This of course causes ifup to return an error in this quite common case... Are there more changes like this / did the error reporting changed in another places too? I realize there are 4 developers in the entire world who think Compiz is wonderful and that they all work on this project, but they are the [I]only[/I] people in the world even willing to tolerate that hunk of trash. [I]Think about the average user![/I] What is the average desktop user? They want to check email and surf the Web with their one and only 15" monitor on their one and only desktop. Period. My father is a shining example of "average consumer desktop" and this Compiz debacle. Once the desktop displays he believes it is ready to go. He clicks and shoves the mouse around while doing other things to get his Web browser up and what happens to him? The screen zooms in and out, assuming it doesn't throw up a quad or octagon display he has absolutely no clue about. Adding insult to injury, he needs the mouse pointer size increased. Thanks once again Compiz team for hosing something that used to work!!!! Now the new pointer and size only works in Mozilla. Not the desktop or Evolution. Remove this debacle from the product. It simply doesn't work and too much is now being fed through it to get it turned off completely. Remove it from the default install.
