My choice here was playing the audio cd with KsCD in the KDE device manager popup over the system tray after inserting the cd. KsCD starts normally, but when I choose the play button in KsCD the buttopn chanche from the play to the pause symbol(which is normal), but there is no sound. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Install openSUSe12.1 final 2.Insert a audio cd in your system drive 3.See popup the option window of the KDE device manager over the KDE system tray 4.choose the option to play your audio cd with KsCD. 5.See KsCD launching with succes. 6.Click on the play button of KsCD 7.Hear no sound! Actual Results: KsCD is not able to play with sound. Expected Results: KsCD should be able to play a audio cd with sound. As said, the sound system is working with other players like amarok and kaffeine. When i turn on my PC KMix is not in the system tray, so i need to go to Personal Settings (Configure Desktop) and change the default device in the Sound Output drop down every time i turn on my PS or restart it. When trying to boot openSUSE 11.4 to 12.1 Milestone 5 live or full install images the backlight on my screen goes stops working during the boot of the graphical environment. If i enter "nomodeset" as a kernel boot parameter the boot process seems to freeze for about 5 minutes and then finally boots into the graphical environment but with a fuzzy/out of focus look. This bug has kept me from upgrading from 11.3... I am sure I'm not the only one out there. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. insert 11.4 or 12.1 live or full install media 2. do not enter anything as a kernel parameter 3. watch as the backlight turns off Actual Results: with a black screen there is not much you can do. I have been able to boot using "nomodeset" kernel parameter but have not installed due to lack of fix for this issue. The second file had a ISO-Latin character (one byte- L á _ e m), but in the error message there are 2 characters between the 2 adjacent ascii characters. I suspect that when the file is placed in the playlist, clementine stores, not the original pathname, but a converted pathname. Later when it tries to open that pathname it fails. After this error the files are grayed out in the playlist. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Create a sound file with a name including non-ascii characters. 2.Load that file to the playlist. This works and clementine shows the file's tags. 3.Try to play the file. Alternatively: 1.Create a directory with a name including non-ascii characters. 2.Place in that directory a sound file, even with an all-ascii name. 3.Try to play the file. Actual Results: There is an error message "No such file", the file is grayed out in the playlist and it doesn't play. Expected Results: It should have played the file. For non-English users a significant part of their music collection will have files with non-ascii names. What firefox does is to start with a window that is larger than the screen resolution — and that is what should be changed.
