I selected a few additional package sets, like "Konsolenwerkzeuge" (console tools?), and additional packages, like "findutils-locate". As the disk space is limited on my machine, I started deselection of unneeded packages. The first package was "emacs-info". I run into trouble (as expected) and I chose "non installation of emacs" in requester. This leeds to further trouble, again a requester came up. At this point I noticed that many packages got deselected. And suddenly only 1% instead of 60% disk space are used. My machine is notebook ASUS A6M-Q024 (BIOS: American Megatrends (newest one), AMD Turion 64x2, integrated graphic GeForce Go 6100, 1GB RAM). FIRST: Can't run with ACPI enabled. (Actualization of BIOS helped in SUSE 10.2) SECOND: Installation was not complete! Third step of installation proces - hardware settings, passwords for admin and user, update etc. - was omitted. So now I cant even log into to the system, because I think some sort of password has appear; I tried without login and password, admin - admin etc and nothing. So I cant send any logs. THIRD: server .../.../opensuse10.3/standard/ wasn't avilable during installation and non of yast-... packages was downloaded. My kiwi changelog says: * Wed Sep 26 2007 ms(a)suse.de - fixed stick creation for compressed images. Too many spare space was added to the read-only image part. This was a waste of space * Wed Sep 26 2007 ms(a)suse.de - added harddisk boot for isoboot (#328509) - load BusLogic module for vmxboot/oemboot systems (#327358) - fixed pattern download by using the content file. On local repo check by glob search if no content file exists (#328003) Yes, in bug 328003, I meantioned DESCRDIR as the correct directory where patterns are saved, but the real problem was that even when kiwi knows the correct path, it is not able to read the pattern list. See comments 25 and 26 of bug 328003 - the directory actually was correct. Now with new kiwi, I get Pattern match or DESCRDIR search failed: default failed error. If I add some debugging into KIWIPattern.pm, I can see that the $content variable was empty before calling checkContentData function.
