Hi,
The ktorrent v. >=2.0 packages still have DHT disabled, although it is no
longer experimental. This can be found in the SUSE 10.2 or in the packages
provided in KDE:/Backports for 10.1/.
I think it is safe to remove the patch that disables DHT.

Summary: Left handed mouse does not work with external USB mouse
in KDE
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal

I have an PS2 to USB converter from EzTec where I can plugin a PS2 mouse and
keyboard. I have never had problems with it with any Linux distribution. But
when I set left handed mouse in KDE control center the external PS2/USB mouse
still is in right hand mode. My Synaptic touchpad switches to left handed mouse
mode.
How to reproce:
1. Plug in an external USB mouse (in my case an PS2 mouse with an USB
converter)
2. Open KDE control center and set up your mouse to "left hand mode"
As a result the Synaptic touchpad is in left hand mode but the external USB/PS2
mouse is still in right hand mode.

Since opensuse 10.2 is the kernel support for the PC-Speaker is built in the
kernel, before it was installed as a module (symbol INPUT_PCSPKR).
Having this as a module permitted us to blacklist it, as using a lot of
laptops in the same office all those "beeps" where quite annoying. Now I have
to rebuild my own kernel, losing automatic update features from the distro and
much time.
Please leave it as module (as before), or don't include it at all ;-)

Summary: Siemens M34 USB occasionally stops soundcard
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: 32bit
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Sound
AssignedTo: tiwai(a)novell.com
ReportedBy: Olaf.Amm(a)fmi.fi
QAContact: qa(a)suse.de
I use a Siemens M34 USB adapter for VoIP calls (unfortunately not supported by
Linux, but my machine is a Windows/Linux dual boot), and a Soundblaster sound
card. Usually, even though the M34 USB is not useable under Linux, things work
fine and the sound card is working normally. However, every 5th login or so,
apparently randomly SuSE Linux recognises that M34USB adapter as the "sound
card", so the actual Soundblaster card is disabled, and sound doesn't work.
I think SuSE should not assign an USB device that it cannot fully recognize as
a sound card. - Is there any fix/workaround for this?

It is more interesting to note that ZMD appears NOT to use the mirror as
defined in the update source but always uses the above URL - I find this very
very strange as whilst the above URL may have an update the mirror which online
updates uses may not yet have the update file yet. This is severe limitation
bound to cause problems as you may, on the advise of ZEN to perform an online
update and your mirror may not have the files yet. This could lead to a whole
host of further problems.
I can find NO reason why ZEN should not follow the same online update source
whether it be HTTP FTP no NFS. This is dangerous as well.

My company web proxy (Squid) requires authentication - I have configured it in
yast2 Proxy module and all relevant Yast modules seem to accept it. However
opensuseupdater does not - with tcpdump I can see it tries to access the proxy,
the proxy responds with "407 Proxy Authentication Required" upon which updater
sends "Proxy-Authorization: Basic Og==" (where Og== is colon ":" in base64).
It looks like the opensuseupdater knows it should use username and password for
the proxy but fails to know these credentials. It basically prevents me from
using opensuseupdater and would eventually have to go back to the zmd/mono
beast.

Two network cards (NIC) environment:
If you do configure the 'wrong' NIC during installation and do recognize that
when YaST tries to (unseccessfull) enable a connection to the internet -
returning to the NIC configuration (with back buttons) deleting the config of
the 'wrong' NIC and configuring the 'right' NIC causes a problem: it is not
possible to connect to the internet afterwards. I thing YaST do not delete the
config or the 'wrong' NIC and still tries to use just that NIC to enable the
connection.
