Hello All, I recently insalled Suse 8.0 and was using Red_hat before.I do like Suse for its very good GUI. But the problem is i could telnet ot other systems and no one can telnet to mine.Sice i'm desktop is within intranet there will be no security issue if i enable this option.I tried from past 2 days but was unsuccessful in enabling this option.How to enable this option. Make sure, that the telnetserver and the ftp-Server of your choice is
installed. Also take a look in
/etc/inetd.conf
and activate the entries for telnet and maybe ftp (depentds on the
ftp-server you are useing). Last but not least start the ine tdaemon to
listen for connection requests to your machine.

At the moment there is no English website for SuSE-Blinux, we are working on this. But there is a good English documentation included in the pakage. What exactly are you looking for? Do you only want to know what SuSE-Blinux can, witch brailledevices are supported etc.? Or do you want to know how to get SuSE-Blinux?
Second, can it be installed without sighted assistance?
Yes, this is posible with some brailledisplaies. It might work with your
Alva Satelite, but Marco mensioned that there could be problems with the
autodetection..., just try and let us know, we had no brailledevice to
test it ;-). If the automatic detection really don't work during
installation, install the system with sighted help. Its not difficult to
setup SBL in to a installed system, you dont have to do many things to
get it running and I / we can help you.

The screenreader SuSE-Blinux is included in the normal SuSE-linux-distro. The actual version of SuSE-linux is 8.0, you can either buy ther personal (less programms, specified for the homeuser) or the professional version (more programms, not only pakages for the homeuser). Xou shuld get the distro in bigger bookshops or computerstores, onlineshops like amazon or directly from SuSE. Take a look at http://www.suse.com there you'll find more infos about the distro and there differences. Do you allready have linux running?
