I have just looked through the suse drivers and it appears that my NIC is not listed. I haven/t checked the module disk so it may be there but I am not sure. I can download the driver from 3com's website. My question is how the heck do I get the driver onto my system after I download the driver to my hard disk.
First of all check out please, if yast2 really can't recognize your NIC. Simply start the adminstrationtool with yast2 and select the option "Network / Network card configuration" from the list by pressing enter. To launch this moudle press towtimes TAB and then enter on the "Launch module" button. Now yast2 looks for the NICs in your system and perhaps your NIC will be reconized. If this not works, tell us where the driver for your NIC can be downloaded, maybe we can tell yo how to install it.
Another question I have is how do I check to see if my sound works or not, and if it does not work how do I get linux to use my sound card. I have a soundblaster live which is deffinitely supported by linux since this computer is like a month old or maybe less.
You can install your soundcard with yast2 too. Start yast2 again and select the module "Hardware / Sound". Now yast2 looks for your soundcard and xou can install it by following the hints on the screen. I'm using this card too and it works fine. If the card is installed you can test it for example with freeamp, wich is a player for mp3-files. cya, Schoeppi ---------- SuSE-Blinux Support Christian Schöpplein <schoeppi@suse.de> Tel.: Di. und Do. 15.00 - 20.00 Uhr 0421/526-2480 www: http://www.blinux.suse.de/en/
