Hi,
I just run into the following problem. We have to use still SLES11SP1 and tried to install it on new hardware.
Problem: Either the network card and/or the raidcontroller was not detected.
There are updated drivers. I but it into the initrd file and can do the installation. But I have to copy the files at the end (just before the system reboots) onto the disk.
What is the best solution for this kind of problem ? How to integrate new drivers into the system ?
In this case (tg3, megaraid_sas) ...
http://www.sunwfrk.com/2010/11/11/adding-custom-rpms-to-your-autoyast-instal... might apply to SLES11 SP1 as well.
A a discussion on this list: http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-autoinstall/2009-09/msg00007.html
Or read http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7009981 which shows also how to use the dud (driver update disk) via the network
Extract 1) Update your initrd ( You id already ) 2) Create an update repository on your installation media
Autoyast should use the update installation media during installation
Hth Hajo
Note: Google searc was: dud , sles, autoyast

Hi,
if it is an rpm or you can roll an rpm you should be able to install it using a post-script.
(something like "curl http://our.rpm" and "rpm -i our.rpm").
I might be able to lend you a hand in this (tomorrow).
Best regards Robert
