hi, now it works. the main problem is the parameter in the header of the original suse iso file... (http://lists.suse.com/archive/suse-autoinstall/2002-Jul/0044.html) mkisofs ....-V SuSEautoinst.001 is wrong mkisofs ....-V SU8000.001 is right then the command autoyast=default install=cdrom:// find its path to the installation source now i have other problems. 1. when i start a Standard installation yast2 needs packages from CD3 (only 3,5 MB). Where can i get the information which packages these are...is there any logfile. 2. after installation the system starts with KDM->KDE after a reboot i have to type in sax2 -a and then i am able to start KDM or KDE from console(can i solve this problem in the controlfile?) greetings marc

We have an bootable custum CD now wich asks for wich Installation should be done and after some time it boots from harddisk. This stands in our isolinux.cfg ################## isolinux.cfg ########### default harddisk

# tokenring mit SCSI Platte label tokenringscsi kernel linux append vga=normal initrd=initrd ramdisk_size=65536 install=cdrom:// autoyast=file://tokenringscsi.xml display sample.msg

# hard disk label harddisk kernel linux append SLX=0x202

And in the sample.msg we describe the bootoptions. The *.xml files are at the root from the CD.
