Thanks Anas, for helping me over that hurdle. Now I'm stuck again. The create_package_descr command looks like it finishes successfully, but when I try to add an installation source with YaST, I'm kicked out of the "Change source of installation" module. The Web server's access_log reports setup/descr/packages.en_US was requested, but it doesn't exist. I only show packages.de and packages.en files being created. I tried the "-l en_US" option with create_package_descr and resulted in a "packages." file. How do I create the packages.en_US file or force YaST to settle for the bloody packages.en? I think I've read in the archives that the create_package_descr is backwards compatible, right? I'm running the version that came with SLES9 to build a description of SLES8. Does this message in /var/log/YaST2/y2log have any bearing? [ui-ncurses] Y2NCursesUI.cc(setLanguage):720 Encoding for 'en_US' is 'ISO-8859-1' On Sun, 2004-12-19 at 05:19, Anas Nashif wrote:
on SLES8, the file is in /usr/share/autoinstall.

I'm trying to update the package description of a SLES8 s390 distribution which is being housed on a SLES9 x86 server.
/usr/bin/create_package_descr
EXTRA_PROV_FILE location missing. Call this script with
-x <location to EXTRA_PROV file>.
The EXTRA_PROV is available on the first CD in the directory suse/setup/descr
There is no "EXTRA_PROV" included with the SLES8 s390 media.
