Is this supposed to work? Yep, three slashes is right. The first two are for the file:// scheme itself, and the third one is part of the path (/d8). (I learned this the hard way by finding out that file links to Windoze UNC network paths have to be specified as file://///comp/share - yep, five slashes.)
