Hello everyone I would like to invite the team to participate in a revision of our current artwork wiki. I have been reviewing it myself for a few days and there is data there that seems incomplete or unstructured. However, I do not know what the intentions of all the links under artwork are for. These are pages that have stayed the same for a long time and it is probably now a good time to update it. Clean it up. If you would like to participate of this idea, please go to http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Artwork Then review the links, information and contributions made to it. If you would like to make a change, log in with your opensuse account to the wiki and edit the contents. If you are not confident of the changes you are suggesting and would rather voice an idea or concern about it, there is a google doc that you can use to add these comments. You can link to it from here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gZesLzEIJej9YkzA52nf2I7GQgrf_h1E71NJ6ozu... Every little bit of help is welcome. This is something I was talking with Rajko about as a place to start with getting acquainted with wiki help since I have an interest in both areas (art and wiki). While starting to learn how to structure wiki and make sure good content stays and old content leaves (or is updated), I landed this new job and it requires much of my day and a fair amount of study and devotion until I become more comfortable in the new position. As a noob I'm not as savvy to all that is relevant or obsolete content with questionable areas so I have to hunt people down and ask a lot of questions to press forward with restructuring, however I am happy to help when and where I can (as always). From what I understand so far a lot of information has changed and if someone who knows and has the time can update notes with instructions to what needs to be done I can definitely take things from there. I usually check in the headers and at the footer of each page to see if anyone has left instructions that can be followed which seems to work well. There is also a link http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Junior_jobs that could be edited to include wiki pages requiring updating. Just as having a list of projects available for the Artwork team that can be checked occasionally for stuff to do, a page for wiki could be beneficial as well. However, this could also be considered redundant if notes are on each page that requires editing in some way. I believe you're right though, it seems there is a lot of information floating around that could use some structuring and clarification. I'm not a stupid person, but some of it seems like it was written based on the standpoint to be delivered to someone who already knows and understands the workings of openSUSE, not the casual user who wants to get involved which I feel is truly our target audience. I fully support the endeavor and I'm glad others are also taking a good look at it and feeling the same, as we begin to re-model this section (and all sections) of the wiki I just think we should really focus on making it very basic and simple to understand which may mean taking the time to provide visuals and examples so that people who understand little or nothing about openSUSE can understand them and feel comfortable and confident that they could take initiative or walk away with almost a full understanding of the content.
