On my raspi 3b+, I'm trying out some code for controlling WS2812 LEDs - https://github.com/jgarff/rpi_ws281x The code uses /dev/vcio for mailbox communications - I guess there is a module that provides this interface, but I can't find it. It looks like bcm2835_mailbox is the right one, and it is part of the kernel.
