SATA, K8V Deluxe MB and SUSE 9.2
Has any one had any luck in getting a ASUS K8V Deluxe MB and SUSE 9.2 to see an IDE drive on the built in SATA bus? I've been told that it's possible but I haven't been able to see one of my drives on the bus, I've looked for a scsi device (no luck), Here's my Sysinfo: MB: ASUS K8V Deluxe CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3200+ MEM: 1540984 kB VID: G-Force FX5900 128 MB MON: ViewSonic P810 OS: SUSE 9.2 Pro CPU:

I have the same mobo with 1 IDE and 3 sata raptors. 9.2 is installed in one of the sata's. I can see the ide and the other 2 sata. -=terry(Denver)=-

Are you using SATA drives on the SATA bus and having the OS see them as IDE drives? thanks On Sun, 2005-01-30 at 20:02 +0100, jose wrote:

If you go to the bios in "advanced" and "onboard device configuration"you must see the promise controller with two modes RAID or IDE. Accept the IDE mode. jose
