Do you have ecc ram? It is possible that your mobo and the ECC ram you are using are incompatible, try turning off ecc mode in the bios (or if it's not on, on).
standard system, and it runs everything else fine. even installs suse 9.2 and runs suse 9.2 livemedia. so its not a problem with the hardware. it should be a problem with the memtest
Also, the next step to try if you suspect faulty ram is to boot a working system, and download smprime. And run the mprimes stress test, overnight, it should be able to keep running, if it errors out you know you have issues with your ram.
see above.

i dont even know what build of memtest86/memtest+ suse has on their 9.2 media, as im unable to see flickering screen before it almost instantly reboots. anyways, i tried memtest+ 1.27 today and using that from a simple bootdisk doesnt reboot instantly, and just checks my memory all right. http://www.memtest.org/#downiso so its gotta be something about the memtest on the 9.2 media that is wrong. cheers.
