Hi Thomas, I had the same problem on my Shuttle SN85G4v2, the sound goes all crackly as if it is playing back a few bits per second!! the problem affects both 64bit and 32bit versions of 9.1. on mine the following seems to work: as root at runlevel 3: rcalsasound stop modprobe snd_intel8x0 this seems to fix the problem for multiple reboots until something upsets it such as a kernel update or ,strangely, creating a new user!! After the update to kernel 2.6.5-7.111 (SuSE 9.1 Professional) I have problems with my sound hardware. After a reboot the soundcard is not accessible. When I remove the soundcard in YaST and readd it it works like before. There is no error in dmesg or /var/log/messages.
