Recently yast has been crashing on me when I install packages. Also I run in to hundreds of dependency conflicts when I do updates. How do I refresh my screwed up yast tool? Kind of general question but it's a problem that's really hard to google for.
I have OpenSuSE 10.1 on amd64. Thanks.

Ryan,
did you add a "Factory" channel as installation source? If yes, this may be the reason for the crash. As I read in the german writing mailinglist suse-linux@suse.com, the "Factory" Packages are replaced/updated nearly every day. Sine it's Marcus Meissner saying this, I just believe him ;-). Use "SUSE_Linux_10.1" Sources only - in case that you added some of the repositories at software.opensuse.org/downloads/...
And yes, wrong dependencies are one specialty of Novell's ZEN bullshit^Wsoftware management. Whenever I try to update cups, I get broken dependencies with lprng - which I don't have installed...
